Big Boy's New Big Chair

This is car seat number THREE for Croix. His infant car seat, that didn't last very long because even though he was an infant his body was NEVER infant like, lol! Then we had a smaller but not so big Convertible one that my co-worker gave me and now this ULTRA PLUSH seat that looks better then my own driver seat! Lol. He was starting to look like a hot dog in a hot dog bun in his second seat, his head was hitting the top of the seat and his straps wouldn't extend any longer so it was time. So I pick this one up at Target, its the Maestro™ Combination Booster Car Seat, Goldenrod.

It adjusts as they grow and let me tell you this boy is GROWING!!! My one year old wears a 2T!!!! The reviews were pretty good and the material feels really good. It has 2 detachable cup holders, which I really like because I can put snacks in one and his drink cup in the other. And I like how it blends nicely with my seat color. He rode in it for the first time yesterday and he was looking at it like "Heeeeyyyyy now this is alright!!!!" Lol.

Check em out!

Then we went BACK to Target because I forgot something, lol. We manage to have fun where ever we go!

I Name You BIG Linus!

So I have given Croix the nickname BIG Linus, lol! Back in the day there use to be a cartoon called Charlie Brown. In the show there was Charlie Brown, his dog Snoopy and a host of friends. One of his friends, Linus Van Pelt, was incredibly intelligent for his age but would walk around with his blue blanket for security. Well......Croix and his blanket are like BFF's. It's so funny because he will go get his blanket and throw it over his head and walk around, CLEARLY can't see a thing, but I swear that boy has no fear! He will lay it on the floor ANYWHERE and lay on it when he is sleepy. I have even caught him dancing with the thing, lol.

See the resemblance?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Isn't he CUTE!!! :)

Pre-Planned Meals - TIME SAVER TIPS

Sometimes Time is NOT on your side, ESPECIALLY with kids!!! When I leave work to pick up Croix from daycare, I immediately would start to make his dinner. In most cases, well in ALL cases, he is not very patient with me when he is hungry, lol. But I wanted to make sure he was eating enough food that he was satisfied and getting his essentials. Sooooo what I do now is every Sunday evening I cook and prepare his food for the week and package them in containers. I store them in the fridge so when I come home I can pop one in the microwave and BAM!!! I'm DONE! This has been such a time saver and I am able to spend at least an hour more of quality time with him before he goes to bed :)

Here are a few of my combinations:

Monday

Mixed Veggies and Beef Ravioli

Tuesday

Chicken Nuggets, Tatter Tots and Homemade Creme Corn

Wednesday

Corn on the Cob and Homemade Chili Mac w/ Wheat Penne

Thursday

Homemade Creme Corn (he LOVES corn, lol) and Homemade
Chicken and Broccoli w/ Brown Rice

Friday

Beef Pigs in Blanket w/ Green Beans

After each meal I give him a cup of juice or milk and were off to bath time. Whatever I make that's left over I either eat some for myself or freeze it for another day. I'm working on some new combinations this week, so I will keep you posted. It really has been a time saver. You might want to try it out with your little ones :)

PIN ME :)

Saturday Breakfast

Saturday Morning on Croix's plate:

Mini Pancakes, Banana Slices and Turkey Sausage Patties.

And YES!!! HE ATE ALL OF IT!!!! Lol! At this rate he is going to eat me out a house and home, lol.  He is such a good little eater and he is so active that I dont think it phases him. I remember while pregnant I could eat a whole table of food and 30 minutes later I was still hungry. He saved NOTHING for me, lol. I use to knock on my belly and say "Um... HELLO....can I get alittle of that please??" then he would have the hiccups, lol.

He had a great hearty breakfast while watching his morning cartoons :)

Mama's Mushy Moment #1: Seven Hats.....One Big Ole Head!!

Yaaayyy my first mushy moment of my blog.  I was wondering how long it would before I felt the urge to post something, lol.

You ever just feel unbalanced? How do you prioritize so many roles for one person? Some already have a mandatory top rank like being a MOTHER!!! How do you possibly manage them all and still keep your sanity and have time for yourself? So I decided to write mine down and here they are in no particular order EXCEPT #1:

1. Mother
2. Daughter
3. Sister
4 .Marketing Director
5. Creative Freelance Designer
6. Friend
7. Head of Household

I personally think I need a "ME" button to press from time to time, however I don't know when I will be able to press it, lol. Being a single parent is so demanding! A lot of the support you would normally get from your significant other isn't there. And even if you have a good relatioship with your childrens father and he is active in there lives, that day to day partnership is still support needed. Sometimes support from your own family isn't quite there as well. So here you are with this little person who is just looking at you.....like "Sooooooo what we doing mommy?" lol. All my energy and time really goes toward my son. I focus my energy at work when I am at work and my son gets EVERYTHING ELSE!!! And guess what? I am TOTALLY FINE WITH IT :) Sometimes it gets overwhelming I will admit it can break you down and bring you to tears, but once the tears dry somehow a new plan manifests itself. At least that has been my experience so far.

As long as you understand your roles, you can't worry about others that don't.

My #1 priority is my son. You would be surprised how some may not understand that. To me its common sense. But lately common sense isn't so common these days. In result sometimes you lose friends.....sometimes you lose family......sometimes you have to find a new job that understands your roles. When you become a parent.....YOUR LIFE CHANGES!!!! Not just a little, A WHOLE LOT!!! Your goals change, your dreams change, your visions change, hell your wardrobe changes, comfort is your new BFF, lol. So many things change that your dynamics with people shift. But like the old saying goes...."Some people are in you life for a reason, a season and a life time..." I've learned to appreciate it for what was and stay focused on my reason for living.......my son :)

Sunday Breakfast

Sunday Morning on Croix's plate:

Waffle, Turkey Sausage Patties, Sliced Apples and Peeled Grapes.

Been thinking about getting the Mickey Mouse Waffle Maker. It's sooooo cute you can make different Disney waffle characters :). I love making breakfast for Croix. And he seems to really love it too.....or it could be the fact that he is just plain GREEDY!! lol.
